We're Back (Sort Of)
Oh, where to start: How about the beginning? I took the first week of July off for a vacation that ended up being almost all work. Not the kind that pays the bills, mind you, but one that satisfies the heart. We did some long overdue maintenance on our property. We took down seven trees, and performed some corrective pruning on about 20 others.
See this dump truck? We actually filled it with chipped material:
It was a long week but everything came out well. Lisa took some time to photograph some of the highlights of the yard. Day lillies:

The rest of the time away was spent recovering from the exertion, digging out of the email, voice mail and snail mail that always piles up during these times, and getting life back on track.
Joshua will be going on a rather exciting working summer vacation starting tonight. We're driving him to my sister-in-laws home in WY to work in their auto body shop. (Would you believe he decided to give up the rest of the summer junior golf league?) He will spend the rest of the summer changing tires, changing oil, learning the trade and hunting and 4 wheeling in what little off time he will have. He's really excited about going and I'm quite sure, will be bugging me all day about when we can leave! He didn't get off lightly during the tree work, either:
He worked very hard and got sweaty and tired with the rest of us. Good Job, kiddo!
