That Was Like, In The Past Man

The Deseret Morning News is reporting today that Mayor Rocky Anderson is the one who implimented the no-booze policy that he now decries. It goes on to describe in detail the Mayors displeasure with it's reporting:

"You guys are embarrassing yourselves," Anderson said of the Morning News' coverage. "How many inches of your newspaper are you going to devote to this inane topic?"

Wow. I would have thought that the good Mayor would understand the concept of free speech and would know that they are free to use as much or as little of their column space as they choose. Because it's an issue he thinks is inane, does that mean that the paper should as well? Does Rocky only want positive press? What happened to the dissenting voice? Isn't that being patriotic toward your government? Isn't that what we're being constently reminded of by our good friends on the left?

He then goes on to state what we all know to be true about the liberal thought process: rules need not apply.

As chief executive officer, Anderson said its his purview to suspend administrative policies when he chooses.

How typical. I might have to rethink my opinion of where he lives.

From the little that I've learned about Utah politics, Rocky seems like an imperious sort. "I'll do what I want and if you complain I'll whine!" Actually that sounds a bit like most toddlers I've met. Which leaves us with this image: Rocky is a toddler in a tower.
